Jimmy’s Ginormous Hiccups!
He tried very hard not to make a noise and to sit still when he was at his desk. Every now and then he would hiccup and jump out of his chair. The teacher asked him to go and have a drink of water, but it made no difference. In the end the teacher said, "I’ll have to call your mother to take you home, no one can do their work with the noise and your jumping about." "There’s nothing else to do but go to the Doctor," said Jimmy’s Mother, after collecting him, so they went to the surgery. They waited to see the Doctor but with Jimmy hiccuping and jumping about they soon got shown into the Doctor’s room. The doctor examined Jimmy and even took out his stethoscope, which he used to listen to Jimmy’s inside. Unfortunately, while listening, Jimmy hiccuped, and it was so loud that it nearly made the Doctor deaf. The Doctor gave Jimmy some special syrup to take every two hours and said that it would soon get rid of the hiccups. So Jimmy took his medicine straight away and went home hiccuping and jumping.
